Varsity vs Kokomo High School (11 - 7) Win Peru Varsity Tigers defeated Kokomo Varsity Wildkats 11-7 on Friday. Kokomo scored first in the opening inning, but Peru answered with four runs in the bottom of the first to take control of the game. Peru added to its lead in the second inning and finished with 10 hits on the day. The team was led by a strong middle-of-the-lineup performance that produced four RBIs, and four players recorded two hits each. In the circle, Peru’s pitcher struck out 11 over seven innings to earn the win. Kokomo drew 16 walks and collected six hits in the loss. Peru also turned two double plays defensively. Peru will travel to Taylor on Monday for its next game.
