Varsity vs Twin Lakes Senior High School (8 - 9) Loss Peru Varsity Tigers lost a close game 9–8 on Tuesday, with the winning run scoring on the final play in the bottom of the seventh inning. Despite the loss, Peru out-hit their opponent 11 to 9. Kyannah Correll and Bailee Kintner each had three hits, while Pheobe Steele added two hits. Peru got off to a strong start, scoring in the first inning off an error and a triple by Correll. They added more runs in the third inning with a double by Correll and another error. The game tightened late when the opponent scored two runs on a home run in the fifth inning, then tied it in the sixth with several hits strung together. Kintner pitched most of the game, allowing nine runs (four earned) while striking out five. Correll and Kintner each drove in two runs to lead Peru offensively. Peru Varsity Tigers will play Mississinewa Varsity Indians on Wednesday.
