Peru Varsity Tigers Falls To Maconaquah Varsity Braves In High-Scoring Affair By GameChanger Media Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Peru Varsity Tigers fell to Maconaquah Varsity Braves 13-9 on Wednesday. Maconaquah Varsity Braves collected 12 hits, while Peru Varsity Tigers had seven. Peru Varsity Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Pheobe Steele tripled down the right field line, Bailee Kintner was struck by a pitch, and Lydea Campbell grounded out, each scoring one run. Maconaquah Varsity Braves flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Kaitlynn Bunch that drove in one. Maconaquah Varsity Braves added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Emily Shaffer grounded out, and Kasey Murray singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Kintner started in the circle for Peru Varsity Tigers. The starter allowed 10 hits and 11 runs (four earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Murray stepped in the circle first for Maconaquah Varsity Braves. The starter surrendered seven hits and nine runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking three. Campbell led Peru Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. Kelsea Hampton, Lilly Steele, and Steele each collected two hits for Peru Varsity Tigers.
